In summer, each of us is exposed to strong ultraviolet rays, which can cause sunburn. Sunburn not only alters the skin pigmentation but also dehydrates the skin. Prolonged exposure to sunlight leads to a wrinkled effect and even unhealthy conditions. Of course, there are various specialized protective products, but they do not always save the skin from ultraviolet rays. Nevertheless, many people try to use folk remedies for sunburn, and here are some of them.
Milk and baking soda
Take half a cup of chilled milk and add a pinch of baking soda. Mix well and apply this mixture to the affected areas of the skin. After application, leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse with clean water. This mixture will help you get rid of excessive skin darkening and alleviate discomfort with frequent use.
Lemon juice and milk
Another folk remedy for sunburn is a mixture of a glass of cold milk with freshly squeezed lemon juice. This excellent bleaching agent will remove unwanted tan in just a few days! It will also relieve you from the feeling of tightness and discomfort.
Lemon juice and honey
Mix fresh lemon juice with honey, then apply it to the affected areas of the skin. Lemon gently whitens the skin, while honey easily helps you get rid of sunburn. Apply the mixture to the skin and rinse with clean water after 20 minutes.
Coconut milk and mint juice
Take one green coconut and extract milk from it, then take mint leaves and crush them to extract the juice. Mix these two ingredients in a ratio of 2:1. Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and place them in the freezer. Use one ice cube 2-3 times a day. This will help you get rid of unwanted tan and cope with sunburn.
Aloe
Fresh aloe vera juice is one of the best natural remedies for sunburn. Aloe vera soothes the skin and gently removes excess tan. Just cut off one aloe vera leaf and gradually squeeze out the juice, then apply it to the affected area of the skin. Aloe vera juice is very light and therefore absorbs quite quickly. It’s best to apply this remedy every day!
Orange and turmeric
Grind the orange peel and turmeric into a smooth paste. Add a small amount of coconut oil or olive oil. Apply the mixture to the skin, then rinse with clean water. Remember that only daily application of this remedy will help you get rid of discomfort.
Cold water
Rub the skin with ice cubes or rinse it with cold water. This will reduce pain sensations and also reduce the damage caused by sunlight to your skin.
When using these folk remedies for sunburn, remember that they are only appropriate for mild cases. Serious cases should not be left without medical supervision.
