Birch buds, when properly harvested and stored under appropriate conditions, have many beneficial properties. Birch bud infusion has been traditionally consumed as a gentle and effective diuretic. This plant significantly increases diuresis and is recommended for edema of cardiac origin (but should be avoided if the edema is related to kidney dysfunction).
Additionally, the infusion of birch buds acts as an antiseptic, has a choleretic effect, and is beneficial for liver health.
