To improve your health even better Find the Best Vitamins and Minerals on Amazon.

As medical practice shows, treating atopic dermatitis with folk remedies is entirely possible: the condition is not incurable or life-threatening, but it can greatly affect anyone’s life. After all, who would like to have unsightly skin inflammation that itches, bothers, and interferes with work, study, and personal life?

Certainly, no one, and therefore, even before homeopathic treatment for atopic dermatitis was developed, many folk remedies for this condition, also called eczema, were invented. Let’s consider several of the most effective recipes. Please note that all these recipes can be used for both adults and children, except, of course, those involving vodka or alcohol.

Folk remedies for treating atopic dermatitis

All available folk remedies can be conditionally divided by usage method – they include drinks, lotions, and ointments. They all exist alongside official homeopathic remedies recommended by professionals when visiting a clinic or hospital.

However, let’s not say that using folk remedies is solely at one’s own risk – because they have been tested not just for decades, but for centuries.

Healing drink against atopic dermatitis

To prepare such a drink, you will need:

1 tablespoon of chopped peony herb,
1 tablespoon of chopped valerian root,
2 cups of vodka or alcohol.
Put the herbs in separate glass containers (separately from each other) and pour vodka or alcohol over each. Then tightly wrap, place in a dark, airtight place, and infuse for 22 days (three weeks).

When this period is over, pour into another glass container and mix together. This drink should be taken three times a day, 1 teaspoon each time, at any time. After a month-long course, take a one-week break, and the course can be repeated.

During the intake of this drink, it is not advisable to bathe in hot or cold water – lukewarm water, from 40 to 50 degrees Celsius, is best. After all water procedures, use a fatty cream or cosmetic oil.

Lotion for affected skin areas

You will need 1 tablespoon of common speedwell and a glass of boiled water. Put the herb in a dish (enamel or glass), pour boiling water, cover, wrap, and let it infuse for 2-3 hours. Strain and treat the affected skin areas at least 5 times a day. Such a lotion has no side effects, it is suitable for treating eczema in children, so you can use it as much as needed.

Compress for overnight against atopic dermatitis

This folk remedy for treating atopic dermatitis is extremely simple. All you need is raw potatoes, preferably fresh. Wash and peel the potatoes, then grate or chop them (but without using metal objects, this is very important). Put the resulting potato mass on gauze and wring it out. Make compresses on affected areas overnight. Such a compress will be especially useful in treating atopic dermatitis in children, as it has a neutral effect, does not have a strong odor, does not contain alcohol, and does not cause allergies.

Alcohol tincture against atopic dermatitis

You will need 1 tablespoon of finely grated or chopped birch buds and 1 glass of vodka. Put the buds in a glass container and pour vodka over them, then close tightly (make sure it’s airtight to prevent air from entering), wrap, and place in a dark place for 21 days (three weeks). Once this period is over, strain the mixture and take about 30-40 drops of this tincture.

This is one of the most high-quality folk recipes that allow for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in adults. However, one should not abuse such a tincture! Also, remember that you should not take the drops undiluted; instead, drip them into a tablespoon of warm boiled water. Then there will be no restrictions on such a course.

Pear compresses for atopic dermatitis

You will need young pear tree leaves, well dried and chopped, in the amount of 1 cup, as well as 0.5 liters of boiled water. Take the leaves, place them in an enamel container, pour boiling water over them, put on the fire, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Then remove from heat and let it infuse overnight.

Such compresses can be made on the face and other areas of the skin. Having a few hours, make a compress on the affected area and attach it using food film to ensure it stays in place. The course of treatment is not limited by anything.

It is advisable to wash the skin with a 10% vinegar solution for better effect before using it.

Bath against atopic dermatitis

You will need:

250 g of oak bark,
oat flour,
1.5 liters of clean water.
Put the oak bark in an enamel container, pour water, bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Then strain and pour into the water in which you plan to take a bath. Then add a cup (or a little more) of oat flour. Such a bath can be taken twice a week for half an hour. Note that this is one of the few recipes that are excellent for treating dermatitis not only in humans but also in dogs. You can completely give your four-legged friend baths or washings using such a composition to help get rid of eczema faster.

Anti-itch ointment for atopic dermatitis

It is known that dermatitis, among other things, brings a lot of unpleasant sensations. On most open areas of the body (for example, on the hands), you can use an anti-itch ointment that significantly relieves itching and greatly facilitates the healing process. To prepare such an ointment, gather the ingredients:

a mixture of crushed chamomile flowers and fireweed,
2 cups of sedge decoction (ratio – 1 part sedge to 1.5 cups of water),
4 cups of clean water,
1 tablespoon of cream butter,
glycerin.
Mix chamomile and fireweed, pour a tablespoon of such a mixture with water, put on fire, and bring to a boil, then cover and simmer over low heat for up to 5 minutes. Then add the sedge decoction and butter, mix, and simmer until you get a homogeneous thick mass. Mix it with glycerin in a 1:1 ratio.

Store this ointment in the refrigerator so it does not spoil! Apply to affected areas up to 4 times a day to reduce itching. You can treat for up to a month, then take a week-long break and repeat the course.

Summary

Thanks to folk remedies for treating atopic dermatitis, it becomes much simpler and easier. Of course, this does not mean that you should not consult doctors and use officially recognized medications.

However, think before using “tested” drugs based on chemical compounds. Wouldn’t it be better to use proven folk recipes for treating eczema?
