Allergic Dermatitis Treatment with Folk Remedies
- Allergic dermatitis is an acute inflammatory skin condition caused by various external irritants, including physical, chemical, plant-based, thermal, and medicinal factors. It most commonly occurs after contact with substances like varnishes, acids, alkalis, paints, adhesives, oils, turpentine, organic solvents, and epoxy resins.
- Allergic dermatitis can also develop after taking certain medications such as antibiotics, sulfonamide drugs, iodine tincture, arsenic-containing drugs, and novocaine. A special category of allergic dermatitis is caused by various plants like primrose, hogweed, buttercup, geranium, sea ivy, celandine, and many others.
Symptoms of Allergic Dermatitis
- The inflammatory process manifests as redness, itching, swelling, burning, and sometimes pain. Severe forms of allergic dermatitis may cause large blisters due to pronounced exudation, and in case of secondary infection, folliculitis, and various pyodermic eruptions.
- Allergic dermatitis can be mistaken for eczema. To differentiate, note that dermatitis regresses quickly and soon disappears, whereas eczema is chronic, recurring, and its relapses are not connected to the initial cause.
