How to Strengthen Immunity with Folk Remedies #5

We all know that a strong immune system effectively protects the body from various viruses and helps prevent frequent illnesses. Since everyone wants to stay healthy, the question of boosting immunity is quite relevant, especially today when the environment has a significant negative impact on our bodies. To avoid frequent visits to the doctor, many people regularly take medications to boost their immunity. However, achieving good results is possible even without medications. In this article, we will discuss what is needed to strengthen immunity without drugs.

Firstly, it’s essential to pay attention to nutrition, as we are highly dependent on what we eat. To boost immunity, it’s necessary to consume certain foods that contain essential elements.

Nutrition for strengthening immunity involves consuming products that contain prebiotics. These are substances that our body does not digest or absorb, but they positively affect the gut microbiota. Since the gut is one of the main organs of the immune system, its proper functioning is crucial for our health.

Foods that contain prebiotics include bananas, Jerusalem artichokes, garlic, onions, chicory root, and certain dairy products enriched with prebiotics.

Important elements for boosting immunity are phytoncides and flavonoids, which help the body fight viral infections. In addition to the mentioned onions, garlic, and bananas, you should also eat apples and walnuts.

Vitamin C has a general strengthening effect on our body and reduces the risk of catching a cold. Vitamin C is found in lemons, kiwis, mandarins, oranges, grapes, bell peppers, cabbage, and rose hips.

In addition to dietary recommendations, we offer you recipes to strengthen immunity:

  • Cranberry and Apple Jam: Mash half a kilogram of cranberries and add a cup of chopped walnuts, a cup of water, half a kilogram of sugar, and two grated apples. Bring the mixture to a boil and then cool it down. This jam is an excellent protector against colds.
  • Rose Hip and Elecampane Root Tea: You will need 1 liter of water, one tablespoon each of rose hips and elecampane root. Boil everything for 15 minutes over low heat. Then add another tablespoon of oregano and St. John’s wort. You can use this decoction as a tea infusion.
