Vitiligo can be confidently classified as a disease that is not fully understood. It is characterized by depigmentation of the skin, or in simpler terms, the appearance of unsightly white spots of various sizes that are smooth and painless. Official medicine does not consider this ailment life-threatening, and its causes are not always clear. In any case, it’s worth considering that the body is trying to signal a malfunction. Therefore, it is advisable to conduct a full examination. While professionals prescribe the necessary tests and draw conclusions from their results, you can independently treat vitiligo with folk remedies.
Don’t Miss the Onset of the Disease
The process usually begins with the appearance of small pink or whitish spots that gradually enlarge and merge, forming large areas of altered skin. Over time, these areas become less sensitive to temperature and other external irritants. The saddest part is that the spots appear on exposed areas – limbs, face, and neck. The disease does not cause significant physical discomfort but can be psychologically traumatic. People suffering from vitiligo should avoid prolonged sun exposure, as it may cause dermatitis. After diagnosing the disease, doctors typically prescribe hormone-containing ointments, electrophoresis, and photosensitizing drugs.
Turning to Folk Healing Methods
Treating vitiligo with folk remedies can be quite lengthy, but that’s no reason to give up. It is important to believe that by showing persistence and endurance, you can overcome the disease and improve your quality of life. A good effect is achieved by treating with St. John’s wort. Consuming an infusion of the herb three times a day before meals, in the amount of one tablespoon for six months, can help regulate pigment metabolism and calm the nervous system. The duration of the course is three weeks, then a seven-day break, repeating the course again, and then another break – this regimen should be followed for up to six months. It is better to carry out complex therapy by lubricating the discolored spots with St. John’s wort oil. There are many folk recipes for medicinal potions to treat vitiligo. However, you should select the remedies suitable for you through trial and error. You can try making an alcohol tincture of crushed parsley seeds in a 1:10 ratio (parsley seeds: alcohol). After two weeks, add a glass of lemon juice to the mixture and regularly apply this composition to your skin.
Trying Unconventional Methods
Sometimes, quite unconventional methods are used. Here’s one method that is quite accessible to try in the summer. Acetylsalicylic acid (available in tablet form) is mixed with baby cream until homogeneous, then you apply the mixture to the affected areas and go sunbathing. Healers promise that after a month, you will forget about your ailment forever.
Believing or not is a personal choice. But trying to change something in your life is always possible. Meanwhile, try to be less nervous, take vitamins and general strengthening agents, and treat your health with care.
