Phytotherapy for Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis is a chronic disease that affects the arteries, primarily those of the heart and brain, with the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the inner lining of the arteries. This condition occurs in people over 20 years old but is most common in men aged 50-60 and women over 60.

Depending on the severity of atherosclerosis, people can be categorized as young, middle-aged, or old regardless of their chronological age. Thus, attempting to slow the progression of atherosclerosis using medicinal plants also serves as rejuvenating therapy.

For patients with hypertension, include hypotensive plants such as motherwort, mistletoe, cudweed, and betony in small amounts. Avoid these herbs if the patient has low blood pressure.

Additional Recommendations

For overweight patients, add corn silk (4–5 parts) to Blends No. 1–4 to help reduce appetite. Also, increase the proportion of yarrow, thyme, sage leaves, dandelion roots, licorice roots, and chicory.

To treat and prevent atherosclerosis, consume watermelon, seaweed, onions, garlic, and red clover flowers regularly.

  • Watermelon aids in normalizing bowel function and removing excess cholesterol.
  • Seaweed (laminaria), rich in iodine, can be used as a salt substitute (1/2 tsp daily).
  • Onions and garlic (2–3 cloves daily) promote cardiovascular health. Mix fresh onion juice with honey (1:2) and take 1 tablespoon 3–4 times a day before meals.

For atherosclerosis with normal blood pressure and tinnitus, red clover tincture is helpful. Use it for three months, taking a 7–10 day break after each month. Repeat the course after six months.

Long-Term Treatment Strategy

Treatment for atherosclerosis is lengthy. Use Blends No. 1–4 alternately for 3–4 months each, with 7–10 day breaks between cycles. After a few months of phytotherapy, you may notice increased energy, improved sleep, and reduced headaches and tinnitus. However, continue phytotherapy for at least 1.5–2 years. Later, for prevention, resume using the blends during spring and autumn. During these periods, take bitters for 2–3 weeks.

Diet Recommendations

Limit cholesterol-rich foods, table salt, and refined carbohydrates. Include fasting days rich in fruits and vegetables to normalize cholesterol metabolism. This is beneficial for both treating and preventing atherosclerosis.
