How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks Using Home Remedies

Stretch marks are unpleasant phenomena on the skin, often referred to as “striae”.

This skin defect appears as wave-like streaks of varying widths, and their color can range from white to purple.

Stretch marks can appear after weight loss, breastfeeding, as well as during pregnancy.

Undoubtedly, exposing any part of the body with stretch marks will be impossible, leading to a decrease in self-esteem.

However, there are numerous home remedies available today to get rid of stretch marks.

How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks: Home Remedies
Recipe #1: Using Regular Massage
Intensive massage can be done using special gloves or brushes with plastic needles to improve blood circulation.

It is advisable to apply stretch mark cream, regardless of its cost or brand.

Massage the abdomen and buttocks clockwise, while the thighs and waist areas should be massaged from bottom to top.

The key to massage is its intensity and regularity. After the massage with cream, you can wrap problem areas with food film and wear it for about half an hour. After half an hour, remove the film in the shower (most likely, sweat will leak from under the film), and wash off the cream.

If the skin under the film starts to itch unbearably, it is better to exclude additional wrapping after the massage.

Recipe #2: Getting Rid of Stretch Marks with Scrub
You can prepare a scrub based on coffee grounds or salt. Mix a cup of either ingredient with a cup of sugar and 100 grams of vegetable oil.

Scrub the areas of skin with stretch marks intensively with the resulting mixture, then rinse off and apply a nourishing cream or body lotion.

Recipe #3: Using Contrast Shower
Take a shower, gradually increasing the water temperature to steam the skin. After a few minutes of taking a hot shower, lower the water temperature and quickly rinse with a cold stream.

Alternate warm and cold showers for about ten minutes. A contrast shower helps restore skin elasticity.

After it, it is advisable to apply body lotion and lie down for about fifteen minutes.

Recipe #4: Using Mumio
Make a cream by taking a gram of mumio, 80 grams of any cream (preferably baby cream), and a tablespoon of water, mix everything and rub the mass intensively into the area of the skin affected by stretch marks.

This cream should be kept in the refrigerator to preserve its healing properties.

Recipe #5: Using Essential Oils
Similar to the massage in the first recipe, but with several significant differences:

Massage is done using a linen glove.
The intensity of action is not crucial; complete rubbing of the oil into the skin is important.
Apply the oil not before, but after a shower while the skin is steamed.
It is recommended to do the massage no more than three times in seven days for two months.
In the fight against stretch marks, orange, rosemary, almond, wheat germ oils, as well as walnut oil, are ideal. Each of them is very effective; they differ only in smell and absorption rate.

Perhaps the most serious way to wage relentless war on stretch marks. It includes several points in addition to applying any of the described methods.

a) Proper nutrition – consume a large amount of protein food, reduce the consumption of sweets and flour dishes;

b) Water pouring not warmer than room temperature, followed by rubbing with a towel (terry cloth);

c) Wear special supporting wardrobe items – from maternity and postpartum bras to special belts and bandages;

d) Exercise regularly and try to lead an active lifestyle.
