Herbal Remedies for Liver Health

Do you feel a dull pain in your right side? Is your irritability or apathy disrupting your usual routine? Do you constantly have an unpleasant taste in your mouth? Are you tired of dizziness and weakness? If you answered yes to at least two of these questions, it’s time to think about your liver. Especially if you’ve never thought about it before. Fatty foods, alcohol, and medications all take a toll on our liver. As the body’s most important filter, it has to handle a vast amount of various chemicals that we consume. Why not show some care for your body and finally take care of your liver? But how do you do that when medications have already contributed to the liver’s deterioration? The answer is obvious—use traditional herbal medicine.

While the effect of herbal treatments may not be as quick or as dramatic as medication, it is real, and over time you will definitely feel it. We won’t tell you about the benefits of traditional medicine; we are sure you are already familiar with them. Today, we will share with you some recipes that are beneficial for the liver. So, which herbs can be helpful?

Milk Thistle

Milk thistle holds a prominent place in the resolution of liver cell regeneration problems. This plant has the remarkable property of not only cleansing but also restoring the liver. You can take milk thistle in the form of a decoction: pour 2 tablespoons of powdered milk thistle seeds with 0.5 liters of boiling water. Boil until only half the liquid remains. Drink 1 tablespoon throughout the day at one-hour intervals.

You can also consume milk thistle in the form of crushed seeds. Take a teaspoon of milk thistle seeds and wash them down with the required amount of water. Take three times a day with meals.

Corn Silk

Corn silk has a strong choleretic effect and significantly lowers cholesterol levels in the blood. To take it, prepare an infusion: pour 1 tablespoon of corn silk with a glass of boiling water. Let it infuse for two hours. Then take one tablespoon 4-5 times a day.

Immortelle

Immortelle is used for various liver diseases such as cholecystitis, chronic hepatitis, and gallstone disease. To take it, prepare a decoction: pour 3 tablespoons of immortelle with a glass of boiling water. Then, keep it on a water bath for about 30 minutes. Finally, dilute with boiled water to the initial volume of the liquid. Take half a glass three times a day in a heated state, 20 minutes before meals.

For Prevention

For the prevention of liver diseases, as well as before festive feasts, the following recipe can be helpful: finely crush caraway seeds, fennel, and anise. Take half a teaspoon of the resulting powder, pour 1.5 cups of boiling water over it, add mint, and let it infuse for 30 minutes. Drink it before the meal. This infusion will help your liver cope with the load.
