How to cure chronic tonsillitis with folk remedies

Chronic tonsillitis is a severe inflammation of the palatine tonsils, usually starting with tonsillitis and its more acute serious manifestations. Chronic tonsillitis is a fairly complex and serious throat condition. This problem can only be solved by two main methods, one of which is radical – tonsil removal. However, even after this, no one can give you a high guarantee that you will not suffer from throat diseases in the future. With tonsillitis, in addition to inflammation of the tonsils, the throat may also be affected, but this condition has another name – pharyngitis, which can be chronic.

Usually, chronic tonsillitis is accompanied by some allergic reactions. Overcooling and various infections can lead to the appearance and development of chronic tonsillitis.

The second option for getting rid of this disease is treatment, which should be carried out simultaneously on all levels and be comprehensive. And, first of all, it is necessary to restore your immune system. In the case when a person catches fewer colds, then exacerbations of chronic tonsillitis will be much less.

Treatment with folk remedies

Of course, today there are a huge number of medicinal treatment options, but it is best to use proven folk remedies that will not harm other organ systems.

First of all, it is necessary to radically change your lifestyle and make it healthy. This means that you need to quit smoking and drinking alcohol, switch to healthy eating, rich in minerals and vitamins. Exercise every morning and get enough rest, sleeping for 6 to 8 hours.

Among the main folk remedies for treating chronic tonsillitis, the following are highlighted:
• For the removal of purulent plugs, rinsing the tonsils will work perfectly, which should be done before their removal. To remove plugs, you can use a cotton swab soaked in Lugol’s solution. If you encounter any difficulties or problems with this, then a proven method will be active gargling of the throat about 5 times a day and smearing the throat surface with a solution of alcohol extract of propolis and glycerin (two parts) for two weeks.

• Also, a saline solution combined with soda and iodine, of which 5 drops are needed, is useful for gargling. All this needs to be dissolved and mixed well. Gargle with such a solution at least twice a day. For gargling, medicinal sage, chamomile flowers, blackberry leaves, burdock (both leaves and roots), calendula flowers, and peppermint, wormwood, raspberry, oak bark decoction, plantain leaves, garlic, and beet juice are used. If you use beet juice for gargling, which should be taken in a glass, with the addition of a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, you will get an excellent solution that will practically relieve you of this disease in two weeks. And if you have abscesses, then it is best to take chopped 2-3 cloves of garlic per glass of hot broth and infuse for 40 minutes, and gargle with this solution.

• In addition to infusions and decoctions for the treatment of tonsillitis, cloves and turmeric are useful spices. Turmeric is a natural antibiotic that improves digestion and normalizes intestinal microflora, and also warms and cleanses the blood. This is a good alternative to synthetic antibiotics. And cloves cleanse the lymphatic system well in the throat area. These spices should be used in the form of hot infusions and only after meals, about 0.5 teaspoons per glass of broth and infused for about half an hour.

• Hot tea with lemon and honey is also an effective treatment for throat in chronic tonsillitis, as well as black currant juice.

• In addition to everything else, it is necessary to drink plenty of warm drinks, herbal teas, and infusions of fruits rich in vitamin C, a natural antioxidant and disinfectant that boosts immunity.
• For chronic tonsillitis, it is recommended to chew propolis three times a day (after meals, 2 grams for adults and 1 gram for children) for one month. Propolis strengthens the immune system, has antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and soothing effects. But before taking it, make sure you are not allergic to propolis.
• Inhaling the vapors of freshly cut onions is a great treatment for the throat with chronic tonsillitis. Such inhalations should be done on average for 2 minutes twice a day.

• It is useful for the prevention of tonsillitis to apply warming compresses based on herbs to the front surface of the neck. But there is one warning – such compresses should be done at night to enhance effectiveness.
• In early spring, for the treatment of chronic tonsillitis, it is necessary to take licorice root together with ginger root in raw form to relieve pain and ease the course of the disease. In autumn, licorice root goes well with tricolor violet. Preparing licorice root is quite simple. It needs to be pounded, brewed in broth, add ginger (violet), boil all this together for 2 minutes and take only hot at night.

Other recommendations for the treatment of chronic tonsillitis

For example, with chronic tonsillitis, it will be useful to use various essential oils (geranium, lime, lemon, bergamot, ginger, fir, eucalyptus). These oils should be used in the form of aroma lamps. Essential oils should be taken very little (from 3 to 8 drops), depending on your feelings and preferences, but remember that the calculation is for 15 square meters of space, and the total time of such inhalation should not exceed 3 hours. There are also types of inhalation where essential oils need to be applied to fabric or inhaled directly from the bottle for 10 minutes. These are so-called cold inhalations.
