From ancient times, it was known that those who knew the secrets of plants did not suffer from heart ailments. In the book titled “Causes and Treatment of Diseases,” the renowned herbalist Hildegard von Bingen mentions the “basic treatment for the heart,” which she considers suitable for any heart condition with an organic substrate, specifying that it can be used once or twice a year.
This treatment includes, among other things, the following recipe:
Parsley Wine with Honey and Wine Vinegar
“Anyone who has pain in the ribs, heart, or spleen should boil parsley in wine together with a bit of wine vinegar and honey. Strain everything, drink it often, and they will be healed.” (Hildegard von Bingen)
Ingredients:
- 10 parsley leaves
- 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar
- 1 liter of high-quality red wine
- 150 g of honey (preferably forest honey); for diabetics, only 80 g of honey is recommended
Add parsley leaves and vinegar to the red wine, bring it to a boil. Remove from heat and add honey. Clear the heart wine of foam, strain, and pour it into clean bottles that have been previously sterilized with alcohol. Store it in a cool place.
For a more concentrated medicinal wine, you can add parsley root when boiling. Prepared in this way, it will have a stronger effect in removing water from tissues.
Additionally, parsley wine with honey can be enriched with 25-30 drops of hawthorn tincture during boiling, resulting in more intense blood irrigation of the myocardium and toning of the heart.
Administration:
Take the wine out of the refrigerator in time so that it is not very cold when consumed. Drink 1 glass (20 ml) after meals. When used in a timely manner, this remedy can prevent the early onset of cardiovascular diseases and, at the initial stage, provide complete healing.
Therapeutic indications:
- Heart failure
- Heart attack
- Poor blood circulation in the heart
- Feelings of weakness
- Stress-induced chest pains
- Nervous pains
- Venous stasis with swelling in the legs and lungs.
