Ingrown toenails are not uncommon these days. They cause a lot of discomfort. Some people even have to undergo surgery because of this. When I encountered this issue, I literally didn’t know what to do. But my friend suggested a popular method for treating ingrown toenails. I was very surprised by this treatment method. And then I decided to try it.
Method 1: Soaking and Filing
You need to soak your feet well and then try to trim the ingrown toenail as much as possible. Take a nail file and disinfect it. The next step is to file the nail approximately in the middle, but not all the way through. This will take about seven days, and you will not notice how all your worries will pass. The pain from the ingrown nail will no longer bother you. Now I cut my nails evenly, without rounding them, to prevent the problem from recurring. And now, four months later, the issue no longer bothers me.
Method 2: Plantain Treatment
Once, my wife had an ingrown toenail. It was so painful that she couldn’t even wear shoes. But she refused to go to the doctor, and I decided to use a popular treatment for ingrown toenails. I went through some notes and found a treatment method.
You need to steam your foot in a manganese solution. For this, you need to take a plantain leaf, mash it, and apply it to the sore toe. Wrap it with a bandage and put on a sock for fixation, changing the bandage daily. This will take seven days, and everything will pass.
Method 3: Butter Treatment
Ingrown toenails usually occur on the big toes. In the past, when people were affected by this problem, they used the following remedy:
In the evening, place some butter in a finger cot and put it on the affected toe, then put on a sock. You need to do this procedure every day. In the morning, remove this compress, and within about twenty-one days, the pain should go away. When the pain subsides, gently push the nail back and place a small piece of gauze under it.
Remember, it is not advisable to trim the corners of your nails, as this is the main cause of ingrown toenails.
Method 4: Aloe Vera Treatment
This is a very popular method that I will now share with you, which should definitely help in fighting the problem. If you have ingrown toenails, I can give you a good recipe: crush an aloe leaf and add twenty drops of water. Soak a cotton ball in this mixture and apply it to the affected area overnight, wrapping it with plastic wrap. In the morning, the nail will soften, allowing you to simply trim it.
